Adopt A Dog: #AdoptHappiness

Having a pet is a big responsibility, and we aren’t going to deny that at all. But looking at getting a pet as just a responsibility - nah, we beg to differ there! Being animal lovers, we are aware of the joys of adopting a little furry friend, and these outweigh the negatives any day, says Raveena Sakiri

Too many people have this perception that adopting a dog binds you to your home, and doesn’t let you explore your adventurous side. But dogs seek thrill and adventure as much as you do! Make them a part of your daily routines and your adventures, rather than just limiting them to the four walls of your apartment. Traveling with your pooch can be so rewarding - you will never feel alone, you will always have someone to cuddle with and it gives you an opportunity to form stronger bonds with your best friend. Just take Tiny and Poppet for example. These desi dogs (the best adventure buddies) were adopted from Peepal Farm in Dharamshala, India, and now live a very happy and adventurous (also very Instagram-worthy) life in Seattle, United States. You can live this kind of life as well!

Dogs love a lifestyle full of activity and new experiences. Two walks a day in no way satiates your buddy’s hunger for adventure. Think long hikes, camping trips and trips to the beach. Dogs enjoy these activities as much as you do! Plus, having a happy adventure partner will reinforce YOUR habit of living an active lifestyle as well. Dogs are curious by nature, and by keeping them locked up in a home will not only kill their curious personality which makes them such great travel buddies, but will also make them unfit, which means more trips to the vet. Planning dog-centric activities will keep the both of you in shape, plus it's way more fun than working out in the gym by yourself! By organizing these pet friendly activities, you are bound to meet more pet owners - and maybe plan some adorable doggie playdates in the future as well!

We live in a glorious time where the hospitality industry pays special attention to the needs of pet owners. There are so many dog friendly hotels and activities to choose from, which widens your horizon and lets you travel places without worrying about your four legged friend. With all these options available, there really isn’t any reason for you to hold yourself back and not adopt a little friend for life. When you adopt a dog it changes you, and you save a dog’s life. You give them a forever loving home and make them a part of your life, in return, they give you their heart, no questions asked. You adopt happiness!
